I’ve always been an animal/horse lover but little did I know that when a friend of mine reached out in 2017 for help with placing a retired medical research hog, my life would change forever. That one hog turned into me convincing the lab to start an adoption program, which ultimately ended up me starting Brucie’s Angels Inc. in 2020. Brucie’s Angels Inc. is a nonprofit which focuses on providing temporary and permanent loving homes for animals released or retired from biomedical research laboratories that have provided lifesaving research for the community as well as educating the public about the health, well-being, care and consideration of the retired research animals while inside the laboratories. To date, we have found homes for over 25 hogs, 10 guinea pigs and numerous rats around the country. Please like us on Facebook (Brucie’s Angels Inc.), follow us on Instagram (brucies_angels_inc) or visit our webpage ( for up to date information and further animals that are looking for their forever homes. In addition to Brucie’s Angels Inc. I’m also actively involved in the horse community. I’ve owned horses for the last 20+ years and currently work at a local TB breeding farm. In my spare time from being a full time special education mathematics teacher and running a nonprofit, I love to hang around in my backyard just enjoying my personal farm animals.
